In 1949, Pat and Hattie Mitchell bought property with an existing teeny clapboard store and a house in a rural area outside of Lynchburg. Over the next six decades, Mitchell’s Grocery Store continued to expand—they even introduced what would become their famous fried chicken. As their family business flourished, what started as a small store selling necessities and groceries to local farmers grew into a gathering place for an entire community. In honoring the legacy previously established by three generations of Mitchells, Fleming Mountain Grill is dedicated to breathing fresh life into a cherished community landmark.
Each meal is expertly prepared to provide our guests with the freshest ingredients and an unforgettable experience. From our bountiful salad bar and wonderfully crafted cocktails to tableside-selected specialty Ribeye and Mitchells’ famous fried chicken, every aspect of the meal is thoughtfully prepared to each diner’s specifications.

Friday & Saturday: 5-10pm
Sunday: 11am-2pm (brunch) | 4-8pm
Bar opens at 4pm Monday–Saturday
